About the Event
Join the Town of East Gwillimbury and our partners, the East Gwillimbury Public Library and the Sharon Museum and Gardens, at the following free events as we mourn the Indigenous children who did not return home from residential schools and honour the healing journey of survivors, their families, and communities.
On September 30th, visit Sharon Museum and Gardens to walk the NDTR and Orange Shirt Day Reconciliation Trail. Visit the trail for a self-directed journey of reflection on the history and legacy of residential schools, followed by crafting a heart for the garden. The walk will be available from 11am to 7pm.
From 4 to 5pm, join the NDTR and Orange Shirt Day Reconciliation Community Event at SMG. Join us for remarks, a traditional ceremony by the Indigenous Action Committee, a story reading, crafting, and an exploration of the NDTR and Orange Shirt Day Reconciliation Trail.
