In 1918 the Sharon Temple opened as a museum, ran by the York Pioneer and Historical Society. The York Pioneers were committed to sharing the stories of the Children of Peace. In 1990 the site became a designated National Historic Site, and was purchased by the Sharon Temple Museum Society. Today the Museum continues to preserve and interpret the extraordinary history of the Children of Peace, and their crucial role to the formation of Canada. The Museum provides valuable programming and educational opportunities that ensure the values and history presented are protected for generations to come. Please join us on this mission by becoming a member today.
